Chase Leidy started his art career at the Cleveland Institute of Art, where he learned principles of art and design, found his passion for CGI, and became proficient in multiple 3D disciplines. For his thesis project he created a 5 minute short film titled "Celestial Threats". Chase graduated from CIA in May of 2023, where he received his BFA in animation.
Since the summer of 2022 Chase has been interning at NASA Glenn Research Center. Chase worked in the GVIS lab where he created animations focusing on SCaN's research projects. So far Chase has created animations for the Lunar Surface Propagation project, Cognitive Communications project, and the Communication Services Project. These opportunities furthered his knowledge as a 3D generalist, and pushed him to obtain a deeper understanding of a CGI production pipeline.
Currently, Chase is completing his fifth internship with SCaN at NASA in Cleveland, Ohio. He is also working on various smaller contracts and furthering his CGI education by completing advanced level VFX courses. Chase is always excited for the next opportunity to push himself as an artist and take part in a new project.
